The RST is a sporty trim, the Z71 is off-road-oriented, and the High Country is ideal for those who want the most amenities out of their Tahoe. Under the hood of all but the High Country, you'll find a 5.3-liter V-8 engine that produces 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque. The High Country gets its own 6.2-liter V-8 engine that delivers 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. All of the trims except the Z71 can opt for a 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine with an output of 277 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. Whichever trim or engine you choose, they all pair with a 10-speed automatic transmission.

All trims except the Z71 come standard with rear-wheel drive with the option to upgrade to four-wheel drive, which comes standard on the Z71. The 2022 Suburban now has a four-wheel independent suspension system that, along with the magnetic ride control technology, helps the Suburban ride smoothly and handle well. While all trims can get four-wheel drive, off-road enthusiasts can choose the Z71 trim that comes equipped with special off-road suspension, protective skid plates, and hill descent control. When properly equipped, the Tahoe can tow up to 8,400 pounds.

With three rows of bench seats, the Suburban has seating for up to nine people. Swap out the second-row bench seat for two captain's chairs and the front row with bucket seats, and there's seating for up to seven people. Many of the features found on the higher trims such as perforated leather seats, power-adjustable front seats with climate control, and an automatic heated steering wheel, are available on the lower trims. Depending on how you arrange the seats, the Tahoe has a maximum of 122.9 cubic feet of storage space. All of the 2022 Tahoe trims come equipped with Chevrolet's Infotainment 3 system featuring a 10.2-inch touch screen. Standard features found on all trims include Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, multiple USB ports, and three 120-volt power outlets.
