Each trim has unique features, such as a bright grille found on the LTZ to 20-inch polished aluminum wheels that come with the High Country. The 2022 Silverado 2500 HD is a handsome truck with an athletic build and stance.
Engine (Power)
Standard across the Silverado 2500 lineup is a 6.6-liter V-8 engine that produces 401 horsepower and 464 pound-feet of torque. A six-speed automatic transmission pairs with this engine. When you need lots of power for trailering, choose the optional 6.6-liter turbocharged V-8 engine Duramax diesel engine that pumps out an enormous 445 horsepower and 910 pound-feet of torque. This powerful engine pairs with an Allison 10-speed automatic transmission. When properly equipped, the 2022 Silverado 2500 has a maximum towing capacity of 18,500 pounds. The maximum payload capacity of the 2022 Silverado 2500 is 3,800 pounds.
Performance
Rear-wheel drive comes standard or you can choose four-wheel drive for improved towing and off-road performance. Four-wheel drive and an Autotrac two-speed transfer case come standard on the High Country trim and are available on the lower models. The two upper trims have a digital variable steering system that helps adjust the steering over changing terrain. All trims come with a specialized trailering suspension system that helps increase the handling and ride quality of the truck when towing. Add the Z71 Off-Road Package to any trim but the base and get an off-road-oriented suspension, protective skid plates, and hill descent control.
Interior
Up to six people fit in the Silverado 2500 with front and rear bench seats and up to five people fit with the two front bucket seats. The base truck features easy-to-clean vinyl material, while the upper trims come with supple leather upholstery. Luxury features include multiadjustable climate-controlled front seats, a heated leather-wrapped steering wheel, and dual-zone automatic climate control.
All trims come with Chevrolet's Infotainment 3 system featuring an 8-inch touch screen that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration. Additional technology includes Chevrolet Connected Services with a Wi-Fi hot spot, SiriusXM satellite radio, and HD radio. The High Country gets voice recognition, navigation, a wireless charging pad, and a premium Bose sound system.
